Carroll County Hits New One-Day High In Positive COVID Cases And Only One Area County Is Under A 15 Percent Positivity Rate

Carroll County has set a new record, one nobody wants to set—with the highest number of reported COVID-19 positive cases in a 24-hour period since the pandemic hit. On Wednesday, Nov. 4, there were a reported 52 new cases, bringing the total as of this (Friday) morning to 1,392. Of those, 868 are recovered. Carroll County Public Health is reporting 14 coronavirus-related deaths, leaving 510 active cases. The county has also moved up in the two-week positivity ratings, now 16th with a 21.7 percent rate. In the region, there is only one county that is not reporting a positivity rate over 15 percent. Greene County is at 12.5 percent with 246 positives, 149 recovered and zero deaths. For the rest of the listening area: Audubon is at 19.2 percent with 219 positives, 114 recovered and one death; Calhoun has 415 positives 300 recovered, five deaths and is at 17.4 percent; Crawford is at 18 percent with 1,479 cases, 1,197 recovered and 15 deaths; Guthrie has 476 positives, 314 recovered, 15 deaths and an 18.2 percent rate; and Sac County now has 496 cases, 324 recovered, five deaths and an 18.1 percent positivity rate. There are five outbreaks reported at area long-term care facilities. In Carroll County, the St. Anthony Regional Hospital nursing facility has zero of the 13 positive cases listed as recovered and Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Carroll is reporting one of their 18 cases is now recovered. The Exira Care Center has one of 20 cases recovered, the Denison Care Center 17 of 39 and Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison reports 20 of their 23 positives as recovered.
