Two People Arrested In Connection To Recent Vehicle Burglaries In Carroll

Two individuals have been arrested in connection to a series of recent vehicle burglaries in Carroll. According to the Carroll Police Department, 19-year-old Austin Eslick of Ames and 19-year-old Kaela Schultz of Carroll were taken into custody Wednesday evening after a witness reported the pair entering a vehicle in the 1000 block of North Adams Street and then fleeing on foot. They have both been charged with one count of second-degree burglary, a class C felony related to their alleged entry into the garage of an occupied home, and two counts of third-degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor. Authorities have received at least eight reports of items missing from vehicles in the previous two days. Items stolen include cash, purses and a laptop computer. Officers executed a search warrant today (Thursday) at 249 Kevin Avenue and recovered numerous stolen items. In all the reported cases, vehicles were left unlocked, which authorities say underscores the importance of locking your vehicles whenever they are unattended. Anybody who notices items missing from their vehicles is asked to contact Captain Ethan Kathol at 792-3536 or through the email address included below.
