Nearly 40 percent of registered voters in Iowa Senate District 6 have already cast their ballots with just over 24 hours left until polls close tomorrow (Tuesday), Nov. 3. District 6 comprises of Audubon, Buena Vista, Carroll and Sac Counties and the eastern third of Crawford County. Only two names are on the ballot for this race: Republican, Craig Williams, and Democrat, C.J. Petersen. There are approximately 41,500 registered voters in the district, and as of this (Monday) morning, Nearly 15,800 absentee ballots have already been returned. About 16,768 have been requested to date with a return rate of over 94 percent. Of the ballots cast so far, 6,931 were from registered Republicans, 5,387 from registered Democrats and 3,412 from independents. Polls in Iowa are open until 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
