Greene County Deputy Suffers Injuries While Transporting Jefferson Resident To Hospital

A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office suffered non-life-threatening injuries while assisting in the transport of a Jefferson resident to the Greene County Medical Center for an evaluation. The Jefferson Police Department received a call from a concerned neighbor at approximately 8:16 a.m. Sunday. An officer and the deputy responded and coaxed the 32-year-old male from the residence. While at the hospital, the subject used force to break free and run from the facility, injuring the deputy in the process. The male was later arrested and charged with interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
