Carroll Man Charged With Criminal Mischief After Allegedly Damaging Vehicle

A Carroll man has been charged in District Court for Carroll County after purposefully causing over $1,000 in damage to a vehicle. Court records show 21-year-old Kaleb Joshua Reiter was taken into custody Wednesday by the Carroll Police Department on one count of third-degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor. Authorities say video evidence shows Reiter punched and kicked a vehicle in the 400 block of East 6th Street at approximately 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, causing an estimated $1,285 in damage to the car. Reiter was released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 12. An aggravated misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
