Between 150 and 200 cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles participated in a Trump 2020 parade Saturday morning in Carroll that ended with an event featuring Senator Joni Ernst. The long line of vehicle decorated with Trump flags and signs left from Swan Lake State Park at 11:15 a.m. on the six-mile parade route and arrived at Harley-Davidson of Carroll around noon for Joni’s Ride Across Iowa. Ambassador and former Governor, Terry Branstad, introduced Ernst to the gathered crowd.
The latest poll analysis from RealClearPolitics shows Ernst trailing her Democratic opponent, Theresa Greenfield, by five points. According to her, those numbers are not concerning to her because they do not match what she is seeing and hearing directly from Iowans.
During her address, Ernst pledged to continue fighting for farmers, the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program, veterans and the military.
Joni’s Ride Across Iowa is also serving as a fundraiser for the Puppy Jake Foundation, which provides service dogs to veterans, and the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation for derecho disaster recovery. After her stop in Carroll, Ernst continued on to Des Moines. She was scheduled for events in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport on Sunday.
