This Friday is Homecoming for the Kuemper Knights, but the pandemic is giving it a different look for 2020. School officials have said that some traditions are just not possible because of students under quarantine and the mitigation efforts in place to help ensure everyone’s safety. If all goes as planned, the eight Homecoming Court members will be back at school Friday and ready to participate in coronation. Coronation will begin at 2:15 outside at the Fieldhouse. Students will be on the west side of the track where the coronation and pep rally will take place. Parents of court members be seated along the presentation area. Guests are welcome, but are being asked to remain a distance away from all students and to watch from the south side. All people are asked to wear masks when they are unable to maintain recommended social distances from others. The event will also be livestreamed on YouTube, a link to which is included below. Members of the court include: Brooklyn Gifford, daughter of Doug and Tena Gifford; Heather Kraus, daughter of Dr. Steve and Jill Kraus; Julia Mikkelsen, daughter of Mark and Laurie Mikkelsen; Sarah Steffes, daughter of Marty and Michelle Steffes; Noah Bauer, son of Jeff and Alison Bauer; Luke Hicks, son of Dr. John and Kelly Hicks; Caleb Monahan, son of Zach Monahan and Mandy Boeckman; and Jack Tiefenthaler, son of Brent and Cindy Tiefenthaler.
