Two Charitable Trusts Announce Nearly $207,000 In Grant Awards For Caroll And Sac County Projects

The trustee of two local foundations, Iowa Savings Bank, has announced the 2020 awards for charitable projects in Carroll and Sac Counties. The Warren H. Timmerman Charitable Foundation distributed a total of more than $140,000 to 15 of the 28 applicants. This includes just over $29,000 to the IKM-Manning Community School District for mobile communication units, $23,349 to the City of Manning’s Hillside Splash project and $15,376 to the City of Coon Rapids for the purchase of an aquatic center slide that is suitable for small children. Since its inception, this foundation has distributed nearly $2 million. Twenty-seven applications were received for grants through the Gilbert and Barbara Renze Foundation. Out of those, 10 projects were selected. The terms of the trust stipulate that about half of the distributions must go to Sac County with the rest dispersed to charitable projects in Carroll County. The 10 recipients are splitting more than $63,750, including $10,000 to the City of Dedham for the purchase of new firefighting gear, $9,717 to the Sac County Conservation Foundation for a new watercraft and $8,250 to the Glidden Area Firefighters Association for the purchase of an air bag rescue system.
