New Orthopaedic Surgeon At St. Anthony Will Begin Seeing Patients Monday

In early June, St. Anthony Regional Hospital announced a partnership with Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, PC of Des Moines for comprehensive services from orthopaedic surgeons and specialists. Starting on Monday, Aug. 17, one of these physicians, Surgeon Dr. Richard Goding, will begin seeing patients full time. “I am excited about the opportunity to build a new, multi-specialty orthopaedic program in west central Iowa,” Goding says. “Investment in and support of an orthopaedic program of this quality in rural Iowa is totally unique—our program features a tremendous facility, a team of talented orthopaedic specialists and an administration that truly supports the program,” he adds. Dr. Goding joins Dr. Brian Crites in serving St. Anthony through Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. At least two more will join the team as visiting specialists in September. “The addition of Dr. Goding to our team at St. Anthony marks an important milestone in the future of orthopaedic services for our region,” says President and CEO, Ed Smith. “Our partnership with Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine will bring a full spectrum of orthopaedic services, allowing the highest quality of care close to home.” Goding says he and his wife of 12 years, Janet, are excited to live and work in Carroll and raise their family here, “in a nice, safe small town with a solid base of industry and quality education.” The Godings have two daughters ages 12 and 10.
