Jefferson Police Officers are investigating reports surrounding the theft of tools from a job site. They were first notified the tools were missing from the 100 block of West Gallop Road at approximately 11 a.m. on Friday morning. Then later that day, at around 6:49 p.m., a resident reported a male approached him in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Locust Street asking him if he was interested in buying tools and other items. The subject said his grandfather had just died and he was selling his things. The suspect, however, was gone when police arrived. Anyone who has been approached in this manner or has information about the theft is asked to contact the Jefferson Police Department at 515-386-2136.
