Monday’s Carroll City Council Meeting May Include Dialog On Cemetery Regulation Changes

The Carroll City Council’s second meeting of July will have a light agenda and begin with the routine business of review for approval of liquor licenses. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says they will likely discuss a minor change to the previously approved parking reconfiguration near the Kuemper Catholic High School before moving on to water main easements for 2020 as well as temporary easements for construction. Although there may be no action taken, Pogge-Weaver says it is possible the council could open a dialog about changes on some of the regulations at the Carroll Cemetery.

Placement of decorations on the headstone or within the cement pad the headstone rests on will likely be the restrictions.

Other components they could discuss are where and how headstones are placed and allowable sizes.

Monday’s 5:15 p.m. meeting can be viewed or joined digitally, with details on these options included in the agenda and packet of materials, a link to which is included with this story on our website.
