No Additional Positive COVID-19 Results For City Of Carroll, But They Continue To Update Policies

The City of Carroll has been busy reviewing and updating their COVID-19 policies after learning last Sunday that an employee in critical services tested positive. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says they made some updates to the standard protocols three to four times since they were developed early this spring and they were updated again on Monday afternoon. But this situation is changing so rapidly that by Monday night, the standards had changed again. He says no other city employees have reported a positive test result, but a handful are undergoing testing at this time as a safety measure.

He says he wants to really thank all the employees for continuously taking the extra steps necessary in protecting their health and the health of others. Pogge-Weaver also appreciates the general public understanding their mandate that masks must be worn in public buildings, such as City Hall, the Carroll Police Department lobby and the Carroll Public Library. A good deal of city business can be done online, but for those that need to make the trip to City Hall or the police department, they are utilizing a model of curbside service that was developed by library staff.

That has worked well and will be followed at the other two locations.

To contact City Hall, call 792-1000. The Carroll Police Department non-emergency number is 792-3536.
