Formal Charges Filed Against Carroll Woman Accused Of Child Endangerment And Eluding For June Low-Speed Pursuit

Trial information was filed earlier this week in District Court for Carroll County against a Carroll woman accused of refusing to pull over for law enforcement with a child inside the vehicle. Court records show 20-year-old Kylie Nicole Armstrong faces one county of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and one count of eluding or attempting to elude, a serious misdemeanor. Armstrong was arrested on June 24 after a Carroll Police Department officer attempted a routine traffic stop for failure to display registration plates near the intersection of Main and Bass Streets. Authorities allege she failed to yield to the officer’s signals to pull over and continued to the 700 block of Granada Road before stopping. According to law enforcement, marijuana, a glass smoking device and a less-than-one-year-old child were located during a search of Armstrong’s vehicle. Her arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13. She faces up to two years in prison and $8,125 in fines if found guilty of the charges.
