Bayard Man Arrested Tuesday For Allegedly Taking Vehicle From Salvage Yard Parking Lot

A Bayard man was taken into custody today (Tuesday) after he allegedly removed a vehicle from a Carroll auto-salvage yard Monday morning. An affidavit from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says they were contacted by an employee of Quandt Auto Salvage at approximately 12 p.m. on July 20. The employee told law enforcement he was leaving for lunch when he realized his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe was no longer parked outside. The victim reviewed video surveillance footage and observed a tan Buick drive into the parking lot and then follow the victim’s vehicle away a short time later. An initial investigation identified 29-year-old Trask Allen Anderson as a likely suspect. Anderson was arrested at the victim’s residence Tuesday after returning the missing Tahoe. He was booked into the Carroll County jail for operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor.
