A Carroll woman accused of attacking a police officer during a June arrest has been scheduled for trial near the middle of September. Carroll County District Court records show 42-year-old Kristal Lynn Miller filed a written not guilty plea to one count of assault on a peace officer, a serious misdemeanor. On June 9, the Carroll Police Department responded to the report of a disturbance in the 200 block of East 9th Street. As Miller was being taken into custody for domestic abuse assault, she allegedly kicked the arresting officer with intent to injure. Her pretrial conference is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27 with the jury trial slated to begin Tuesday, Sept. 15. A serious misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and up to $1,875 in fines.
