Carroll batted nine guys in the 2nd inning and ten guys in the 3rd scoring 9 of their 13 runs as they did what they needed to do in their home opener. The win moves Carroll to 3-2 overall as they head into a home game with Bondurant Farrar on Thursday night. Alex Loew gave them exactly what they needed on the mound too going 4 1/3 innings, giving up just one run on 1 hit. He walked two and struck 5. Tory Feldman came in and finished it up for the Tigers.

Carroll took advantage of 6 Perry errors scoring 11 unearned runs. They scored twice in the 1st after a pair of Blue Jay errors. The Tigers finished with 8 hits with Ryan Johnston picking up two of those. Slade Sibenaller, Ty Nissen, Luke Woosley, Cade Schable, Treyton Goins and Tory Feldman also singled. Sibenaller and Nissen each drove in a pair of runs. Sibenaller scored all three times he reached base including scoring on a pick off move from 1st base.

Kuemper At Red Oak

A six run 7th inning helped Kuemper pull away for their 2nd straight win as they move to 3-4 on the season. The game was tied 4-4 heading into the 7th after each team scored 3 runs in the 3rd, Red Oak took a brief lead with a run in the 4th and Kuemper answered with a run in the 5th. In the 7th Kuemper caught a few breaks as Red Oak walked 3 guys, hit one batter and had 2 errors. Will Schenkelberg had the lone hit during the rally.

Red Oak tried to rally in the bottom half of the 7th but only scored 2 runs.

Austin Tigges had a 3 hit night while Truman Haukap and Schenkelberg each had a pair of hits. Schenkelberg had a team high 3 RBI and Tigges added 2.

Kuemper heads on the road Friday to Clarinda.

A rally late fell just short as Ar-We-Va was looking for their first win of the season. The Rockets scored a pair of runs in each of the last two innings after battling back from being down 5-1 in the 3rd and 7-2 heading into the bottom of the 5th.  The loss drops them to 0-4 heading into a road game at CAM Anita on Friday.

Damon Ehlers picked up 3 of the Rockets 6 hits and drove in a run while scoring once. Damon Ehlers scored 3 times while picking up a base hit. Cooper Kock added two doubles and an RBI. The top 4 guys in the lineup combined to go 6-11 with 2 RBI and 6 runs scored.

East Sac finished with 6 hits though they had close to 6 hard hit line drive outs. What helped them was their patience at the plate as they worked out 12 walks and 3 hit by pitches. That allowed them to rally from down 8-3 in the 5th inning to win it in extra innings. The Raiders put a 6 spot on the board in the 6th inning and then added 2 more runs in the 8th. The win moved them to 3-2 overall as they host West Bend Mallard on Friday.

Derek Aschinger had two of the six hits while Quintin Ludwig, Caleb Villhauer, Camden Villhauer and Preston Mauer picked up the other hits.  Camden Villhauer led the way with two RBI. The Raiders were also aggressive on the base paths with 8 stolen bases. Mauer and Aschinger each had 2.

Quentin Culbertson gave the Crusaders six strong innings giving up just 5 hits while striking out eight. The win moves Coon Rapids Bayard to 4-2 heading into a matchup with Boyer Valley on Thursday. The Bulldogs entered Wednesday at 4-0.

Coon Rapids Bayard scored a pair of runs in the 1st and salted it away with a three run 3rd. With the way Culbertson was pitching that would be enough. Culbertson, Jalen Rosenbeck and Aaron McAlister all had a pair of hits. Jalen Rosenbeck had an RBI single and doubled. Josh Ramirez added an RBI double. The Crusaders had seven different players drive in a run. They also ran well with 9 stolen bases. Peyton Clipperton and Lance Clayburg each had 2.

The Titans dropped to 0-5 on the season as they prepare to host SE Valley on Friday.  Bryce Smidt took the loss while going 1-2 at the plate with an RBI. His hit scored Chase Scheidegger who added a 1-2 night at the plate.

Glidden Ralston dropped their 4 straight to fall to 1-4 on the season. The Wildcats were not able to pick up a hit as Grant Borkowski was the only player to reach base and he was hit by a pitch. Jared Free, Caden Smith, Tyler Brant and Andrew Bennett combined to give up 4 hits, and 15 runs with 11 of those earned. They walked 16 and struck out 3.

The Wildcats will host Woodbine on Friday.
