Bondurant Farrar At Carroll

Bondurant Farrar 9

Carroll 0

Bondurant Farrar got a terrific night in the circle from Lauren Osborn and hit the ball well against the Tigers defense which only made 1 error. The Lady Jays racked up 14 base hits including 5 extra base hits. That included a home run by Addie Ehlers who nearly took Josie Ayala out of the game on the first at bat of the game with a hard line shot right at Ayala who made a great play to make the catch. That helped set the tempo for the Lady Jays offense as they scored in every inning but the 2nd and 5th.

Josie Ayala had a one out double in the 1st but was the first of three runners Carroll stranded at 3rd. The Tigers had 4 hits including singles by Hannah Jorgensen in the 3rd, Brielle Hinners in the 5th and Makalie Kofron in the 7th.

Osborn didn’t walk anyone which meant Carroll needed to come up clutch when they had runners on. The Lady Jays kept the pressure on though by scoring a run in the 1st but really blew the game open with a 4-run 3rd inning and a 2-run 4th inning. Carroll threatened in the 3rd when Jorgensen singled and moved to 3rd on a two base error. In the 5th Kofron reached on an error and Camryn Schable came in as a pinch runner. Hinner singled and moved to 2nd as the ball came into 3rd. Carroll failed to take advantage since there were two outs. Kofron singled in the 7th before the inning ended when Ava Gross reached on an error but Carroll had a runner thrown out at 3rd to end the game.

The loss drops Carroll to 1-3 overall and 0-3 against Raccoon River Conference teams. They will look to bounce back at ADM on Monday.
