Final Regularly Scheduled CCSD Meeting Of FY2020 Scheduled For Tuesday, June 16

The final regularly scheduled meeting for the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education in Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 is scheduled for next week. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, in-person attendance is not permitted; however, individuals are able to attend using Zoom Video Conferencing. The board is reversing the agenda somewhat and conducting a planned superintendent evaluation at the beginning of the meeting rather than at the end. The public portion of the meeting is expected to begin at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16 with personnel and administrative reports. Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, says the bulk of that discussion will be on new and updated staff and student handbooks.

They will then move into reports from the business office. Due to uncertainty surrounding the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the district’s budget, the board will be holding off on some of their larger summer projects. However, Berlau says a few of the less substantial items are still up for approval.

Director of Business Affairs, Gary Bengtson, will also present budget updates and his recommendation to freeze school lunch prices for the 2020-21 school year. Berlau says the board will have at least one more meeting before they close out the fiscal year.

The Tuesday, June 16 meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. Comments for the public forum should be submitted to the addresses included below by noon the day of the meeting. The full agenda and details on how to attend the meeting remotely can be found there as well.
