Two Closed Sessions Are On Agenda Monday For Carroll Supervisors

Monday’s Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting will address some routine business before entering into two closed sessions. These are both defined under Iowa Code Section 12.5 with the first set “To discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation.” The second “To evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session.” Prior to that, supervisors will discuss a jail construction change directive, review for approval a fireworks permit, hold the public hearing for a Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 budget amendment, receive an update from the Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) and review a proposed upgrade by Verizon to the courthouse tower. Monday’s meeting begins at 9 a.m. and will be live streamed on the county’s YouTube channel, a link to which is included below. Details on how to submit questions about items on the agenda before and during the meeting can be found here as well.
