Greene County Authorities Respond To Three Accidents Thursday

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to three separate accidents on Thursday afternoon and early evening. The first was a two-vehicle accident on 140th Street and I Avenue in Churdan at approximately 4:42 p.m. Twenty-seven-year-old Tianna Lowe of Jefferson was westbound when she became distracted and crossed the center line with her 2013 Hyundai Sonotta. She hit a 2008 Lincoln MKX, driven by 37-year-old Sara Vial of Pocahontas. Three people were transported to the Greene County Medical Center, two by Greene County Emergency Medical Services and one by Churdan Fire and Rescue. Both vehicles were totaled and Lowe was cited for failure to yield half of the roadway. The second incident was a single-vehicle accident occurring at approximately 5:54 p.m. on U Avenue near 160th Street, north of Dana. Seventy-six-year-old Jerry Erickson of Paton was driving a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle when the front tire blew out, causing Erickson to lose control. He was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services. Grand Junction Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene. And the final reported accident occurred at around 7:17 p.m. on A Avenue at the railroad tracks in Ralston. Forty-two-year-old Jennifer Bailey of Coon Rapids lost control of a 2003 GMC Envoy on the tracks and entered the east ditch, where the vehicle rolled. Bailey was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services with suspected minor injuries. The vehicle was a total loss. The Ralston Fire Department assisted at the scene.
