Carroll County Public Health Confirms 2 New COVID-19 Cases Friday

Carroll County Public Health confirmed today (Friday) two new positive COVID-19 cases within Carroll County. According to public health nurse, Sara Schulte, the first patient is an adult between 18 and 40 years old and the second is an elderly adult over 80 years of age. No additional information can be released about the patients due to confidentiality requirements. Schulte says contact tracing procedures have already been initiated.

With these new positive cases, Carroll County’s total has now grown to four, and Schulte expects that number will likely continue to rise in the near future.

She adds it is more important than ever for residents to continue practicing mitigation measures.

She adds wearing a mask when in public can also help slow the virus’s spread. Links to the Iowa Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 page and Carroll County Public Health’s Facebook page, where updates are posted around noon daily and as needed, can be found included below.
