The IKM-Manning Community School District released additional information today (Thursday) for families regarding the remainder of the school year. School administrators are asking for all personal items to be removed from the buildings by Thursday, April 30 and will be opening the buildings from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on that date for students to collect any belongings that may have been left at the school. Items not picked up will be collected and disposed of. Books checked out from the school library should be returned no later than April 30 and can be dropped of when collecting property from the buildings or at the grab-and-go lunch locations. IKM-Manning plans to continue their meal program through Monday, May 18 and is awaiting further direction from the state regarding continuation into the summer. The voluntary enrichment plan will be offered through May 15, and all students are encouraged to participate as much as possible while it is available. Due to limitations on social gatherings of 10 or more, prom, which was slated for Saturday, April 25, has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, June 20. School officials indicated if this make-up date does not work, the event will be canceled. No information has been released regarding commencement for the Class of 2020. However, the school is currently working with students and their families on an alternative plan and will share details when available. Families are strongly encouraged to check their emails and the district’s website regularly for important updates.
