Iowa’s Creative Sector Will Be Able To Apply For COVID-19 Relief

At some point today (Monday), The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will be supplying a listing of coronavirus-related resources to assist artists, filmmakers, creative small businesses and cultural nonprofits impacted by the COVID-19 virus. They have been organizing ways for these entities to learn more about state cultural grant applications, which are due on June 1, and community designation programs such as Iowa Great Places and Iowa Cultural and Entertainment Districts that are now due June 15. The National Endowment for the Arts has provided guidelines for applying for up to $50,000 in operating support through the CARES Act grants and they have links to get to that information as well as details on disaster loans, unemployment claims and an American for the Arts survey which will collect data about how the coronavirus is impacting Iowa’s cultural arts businesses and nonprofits.
