Carroll County Supervisors To Bring Local Production Of PPE Back For Discussion At Friday’s Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors will meet for a special session tomorrow (Friday) as they continue to develop and adapt the county’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a similar meeting Wednesday, supervisors discussed at length possible solutions to the county’s shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), primarily masks, gowns and face shields. The board has authorized Emergency Management Coordinator, Sara Anderson, to spend up $200,000 for the purchase of necessary supplies but getting those orders filled has proven difficult. The supervisors have directed Anderson to contact local producers to determine what type and volume of materials the county would need to provide for them to continue production. The supervisors will bring this issue back to the table and discuss any other related issues at Friday’s meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The meeting will be livestreamed via YouTube, and questions can be submitted in advance by emailing supervisors@carrollcountyiowa.org or during the meeting if the participant has created a YouTube account. The agenda and a link to the livestream can be found included below.
