Jefferson Police Department Requests Warrant For Jefferson Man On Multiple Felony Drug Charges

The Jefferson Police Department has requested an arrest warrant for a Jefferson man on multiple felony drug charges. According to law enforcement, 52-year-old Christopher Spaulding is charged with three counts of third-offense possession of a controlled substance—marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription medications, class D felonies and two counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drug, serious misdemeanors. The charges stem from a traffic stop in Jefferson on Dec. 20 at the intersection of West Clark Street and North Elm Street. Suspected narcotics were seized during the stop and sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory for testing and returned positive for the controlled substances. The charges carry a combined maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and $26,250 in fines.
