Last Tuesday, East Sac County Elementary faculty and staff members put together an impromptu wave parade, getting in their cars and driving throughout the communities to give a wave and a smile to their students. One of the participants, Sara Pibal, posted to social media that this was just one way they were able to not only see the students, but to let them know they are missing and thinking of them. Here in Carroll, Kuemper Catholic School System and Carroll Community School District employees are partnering in planning just such an event here. Late last week, a notice went out on Tiger Vison letting everyone know they will be holding their Staff Parade starting at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. The parade will set out from the Carroll Middle School and wind throughout town, ending at the McFarland Clinic. People are encouraged to make signs and stand on their porch or in their yard or driveway, waving and supporting this effort. However, people are asked to not congregate in groups, maintaining that recommended minimum six-foot physical distancing. Please do not approach cars, the drivers will not be able to stop and talk.
