In their efforts to help protect the staff and the general public from the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Guthrie County Courthouse and Sheriff’s Office are temporarily closed to the public. Sheriff, Marty Arganbright, says his office will remain staffed 24/7 and they will handle calls for service. They are asking that if anyone does request the assistance of a deputy at their residence, they let the dispatcher know if they are or have been ill or have a fever. This will ensure the deputies use more caution and reduce their risk of exposure to the coronavirus. Arganbright is urging everyone to stay home and follow the guidelines as set out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Weapons permits will not be issued during this shutdown and there will be no visitation at the jail until further notice. Anyone with questions or who needs assistance with a non-emergency issue can contact the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office at 641-747-2214.
