Carroll County Public Health Now Providing COVID-19 Updates At Noon Daily

Carroll County Public Health announced today (Friday) they will begin providing updates at 12 p.m. daily regarding local COVID-19 cases. According to Public Health Director, Nicole Schwering, the total number of cases in Iowa is at 45 with still only one case in Carroll County as of noon on Friday. The State Hygienic Laboratory reports 765 negative tests have been conducted as of March 20, but this number does not include tests sent to national labs. Local health officials remind Iowans to abide by the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Practice social distancing by staying at least six feet away from other people and avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people. They continue to encourage individuals to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, clean frequently touched surfaces regularly and stay home if you feel ill. Schwering says people should use these tips all the time but especially when shopping for necessities like food or medicine.
