It is only one week now before the temporary location of the Carroll Public Library will close down as employees and a specialized moving company begin the transition to their newly-renovated space in the Farner Government Building. The last day to rent DVDs has passed, but Director, Rachel Van Erdewyk, wants to make sure patrons are aware of other significant dates.
The public opening will be at their regular time, 9 a.m. on Monday, March 23. This is the second time Van Erdewyk and her team have worked to move the entire collection, all of the office equipment and supplies. It is really exciting to get to this point, however, she adds, that previous experience does not make it any easier. There are a lot of new features they are all excited to bring to library users, starting with a meeting space that will hold 50 people comfortably and can be rented by the public…and much more.
She says the entire staff, however, is most excited about welcoming everyone to this new space.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held during the Chamber Coffee on Friday, April 3 beginning at 8 a.m. The celebration continues into Saturday, April 4 with children’s programming and special activities throughout the entire library.
