The first baby of 2020 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City was delivered by Dr. Derek Duncan at 2:21 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5. Elliott Andrew Carlson is the third child and first boy for Jill and Andrew Carlson of Manson. He weighed in at 9 pounds 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long at birth. He will be welcomed home by his two big sisters, Ava who is seven and Olivia, four. Elliott’s grandparents are Bonny and Dale Carlson of Manson and Kim and Steve Cabrera of Barnum. As is customary at Stewart Memorial, the birth was celebrated with gifts for the family. This included diapers and wipes donated by the hospital along with a host of clothing, blankets, safety items, gift certificates and other baby necessities that were gifted to the Carlsons by Stewart Memorial employees.
