Audubon residents have until the end of the week to submit nominations for the Audubon Chamber of Commerce’s annual Citizen of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year awards. Nominations are due by the close of business on Friday, Jan. 10 and can be dropped off at the Chamber office in the 400 block of Tracy Street or emailed to the address included with this story on our website. These awards will be presented during the “Celebrate Audubon” community gathering on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the St. Patrick’s Parish Center. The evening begins with a social hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by the award presentations and a meal. They will close out the night with a live and silent auction, which includes authentic Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes helmets, and paintings from Audubon native and RFD-TV Meteorologist, Tim Ross, with entertainment by Audubon High School alumna and Branson, Mo. performer, Dalena Ditto. Tickets to Celebrate Audubon can be purchased in advance for $35 at Audubon State Bank, Landmands Bank, Present Company and at the chamber office or at the door for $40.
