A Storm Lake man is being held on a $41,000 bond in the Buena Vista County jail following an investigation into the unauthorized use of a credit card and for resisting arrest. The Storm Lake Police Department reports they were notified of the unlawful use of the card on Monday, Oct. 7, and an investigation was opened. The victim’s card was used between Oct. 4 and Oct. 6 at six area businesses, with charges totaling more than $700. Twenty-five-year-old Moo Nay Hea was identified as a suspect and was pulled over by officers on Saturday morning. Upon contact, Hea refused to identify himself or exit the vehicle. He was subsequently physically removed and resisted, fighting with authorities. Hea was taken to the ground and subdued, sustaining minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The ongoing investigation uncovered a flat screen television valued at more than $400 and an Iphone 6 valued at more than $250 that had been purchased with the card. Hea has been charged with ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony, forgery, six counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, aggravated misdemeanors, fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor, five counts of fifth-degree theft by deception and interference with official acts, simple misdemeanors.
