Storm Lake authorities say reports of gunmen wearing masks at Friday night’s home football game have been determined to be false, but they are still requesting anyone with information come forward as the investigation into who made the call remains open. The Storm Lake Police Department responded to the Storm Lake High School football stadium at approximately 9:16 p.m. when a caller reported three male subjects who were wearing hoodies and masks and were armed with guns had just entered the stadium. The caller, however, declined to give any further information and hung up. Officers on patrol and those assigned to the stadium for security quickly determined the call to be false and that no threat existed. They are, however, continuing to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information on the false call to contact the Storm Lake PD at 712-732-8010.
