Twenty-Nine Entries From 21 4-H Members Exhibited At Iowa State Fair

There were 21 Carroll County 4-H members who had 29 different exhibits on display in the 4-H Exhibits Building at the 2019 Iowa State Fair. An impressive 21 of these brought home blue ribbons from a field of more than 3800 exhibits. And a communication’s project by Alexandria Klein of Carroll earned an ISU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences scholarship. “Each exhibit is an outgrowth of year-long project area work done by the 4-H member,” says Mitchell Hoyer, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development Program Specialist. “The exhibits displayed at the Iowa State Fair are a celebration of the education and personal accomplishments of our Iowa 4-H members.” Andrea Irlbeck, ISU Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator for Carroll County, says the members had set identified goals and their entries were then judged on how well they met those. “We’re pleased to announce that these Carroll County 4-H members have received special recognition for their hard work by having their exhibits on display at the Iowa State Fair,” Irlbeck says.
