Carroll Assisted Living Facility’s Back-To-School Photos With Tenants Goes Viral

A Facebook post from Garden View Assisted Living in Carroll, which recreated the popular back-to-school photos seen on social media recently, has gone viral. Districts in the region kicked off the school year on Friday, Aug. 23, and that same day, a group of 15 staff members and residents decided to offer a bit of sage advice for students as they began the 2019-20 year. Garden View Director, Kari Nuzback, says she and a few of the other employees were talking about their kids starting the new school year and asked a few of the tenants what tips they had for students.

The residents and a few employees each held a whiteboard to share their name, age, graduating class and a short piece of advice. In less than a week, the post has been shared more than 40,000 times and viewed by over three million Facebook users from as far away as France and Japan. According to Nuzback, a huge number of teachers and professors have asked permission to use the post in their classrooms. She says the feedback on social media from users was wonderful, as well.

Nuzback adds the staff never thought the post would get so much attention, but they were thrilled to see how many people on the social media platform love seniors as much as they do. You can find the original photo gallery on the Garden View Assisted Living Facebook page, a link to which can be found included with this story on our website.
