A man dedicated to serving students at the Kuemper Catholic School System as a teacher and counselor for more than 31 years will be honored this Friday, Aug, 30. The Kuemper Catholic School Foundation is inviting everyone to join them for the dedication of the James J. Strautman Center for Academic Advancement—Guidance & Discernment Office at the High School at 9:30 a.m. John and Kate Strautman of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. have established an endowment to support teacher salaries and other tools necessary to carry on Jim Strautman’s legacy for continued excellence in academic achievement for all students. Strautman’s guidance did not stop at graduation, he was also instrumental in encouraging students to take risks, seek out their passions and push themselves to achievements they thought were beyond their reach. For those attending the ceremony, please use the west entrance at the Kuemper High School. For those unable to attend, the event will be live-streamed on the Kuemper Facebook page.
