A Sac City man admits to consuming alcohol—after an accident on Saturday morning. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at Concord Avenue and 110th Street, north of Arcadia, at approximately 7:24 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a 2010 GMC Sierra in the west ditch. The driver, 21-year-old Alexander Nicholas Peterson, said he was northbound on Concord when he fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle crossed the roadway, entered the ditch and struck a concrete culvert. At this point, Peterson allegedly told the deputy he had used alcohol, but only after the incident. Peterson did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to maintain control.
