Two Injured When Driver Falls Asleep At The Wheel Early Saturday

Two people were transported for treatment of injuries following a single-vehicle accident on Highway 30 Saturday morning. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received the report at approximately 1:11 a.m. The initial investigation revealed that 26-year-old Christina Marie Holm of Bainville, Mont. was driving westbound in a 2003 Buick Century when she fell asleep at the wheel. She awoke when the car hit the right shoulder, but overcorrected, sending the vehicle into a skid. The Buick crossed over the eastbound lane of traffic and entered the south ditch, hitting an embankment and going airborne for about 10 feet before coming to rest on its wheels in a bean test plot. Holm and a passenger, Johnathan M. Hutchinson of Asbury Park, N.J., were transported by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Holm was cited for failure to maintain control.
