Work at Northeast Park on Carroll’s first all-inclusive playground continues and the family of its namesake, Kellan Tigges, is excited to announce they are planning to assemble equipment beginning next week. Weather and other delays have had area residents and the Tigges family ready for this long-awaited announcement, seeing the first part of the vision for an entire area dedicated to children and adults of all abilities coming to fruition. Pat and Alie are again thanking the many people who have donated, volunteered, helped organize fundraising events and who have been staunch supporters throughout the project. But they could use even more help on this last push. Volunteers are needed to assist with the assembly of park equipment, with a plan to begin setup at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12. No special skills are required and people from high school age on up can donate time to help hold posts, unwrap and carry equipment to its assigned place and other, general tasks. Those who are able to lend a helping hand to a worthwhile venture need only show up Monday at Northeast Park.
