Unemployment Rates For Seven West-Central Iowa Counties Remain Below 3.5% For June

Unemployment rates for seven counties in west-central Iowa remained below 3.5% for the month of June. According to a report released Friday by Iowa Workforce Development’s Labor Market Information Division, Carroll County led the way for the region with just 2% unemployment, a decrease of 0.1% from last year. Sac and Audubon Counties followed closely behind with rates of 2.1% and 2.3% respectively. Calhoun County reported unemployment at 2.5% and Guthrie County came in at 2.6%. Crawford County saw a 0.1% decrease from 2018, coming in at 3%. Of the seven counties in the listening area, Greene County posted the highest unemployment rate at 3.2%, an increase of 0.3% from last year. Iowa’s statewide unemployment remained at 2.4%, well below the national rate of 3.7%.
