The 2019 Sac County Fair began today (Wednesday), and many people from the area will be spending a lot of time at the fairground in Sac City over the next several days. According to Fair Board President, Matt Naberhaus, the first day is always bustling with activity, such as livestock check-ins, the llama and alpaca show at the show ring and the crowning of the 2019 Sac County Fair Queen and the Little Miss and Mister. He says the best part of the fair is the sense of camaraderie and community felt throughout the events.
Each day is capped off with some fun for the whole family. Wednesday evening is the Barnes Professional Rodeo Cowboys (PRCA). Thursday is the figure 8 races starting at 7:30 p.m., Friday is the Outlaw Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. and Saturday is live music from the Jay Clyde Band and Neal McCoy with fireworks to follow. These are some of the fair’s largest events, but Naberhaus says the highpoints for him are the little things.
Naberhaus adds another highlight is a special memorial from the Sac County Veterans Affairs Office that will be displayed throughout the fair.
