A Carroll man has been arrested for alleged sexual contact with a minor. According to Carroll County District Court records, 19-year-old Devon Dewaine Lentz was taken into custody by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week on an outstanding warrant for lascivious acts with a child, a class C felony. The charge stems from an investigation by the Carroll Police Department, which shows the incident took place on Monday, May 6. Authorities say Lentz went to the 12-year-old female victim’s home, kissed her on the lips, and engaged in indecent sexual contact. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 8 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty, Lentz faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. He remains in custody at the Carroll County jail on a $2,000 bond for failure to appear on two unrelated charges: reckless use of fire and first-offense possession of marijuana, both serious misdemeanors.
