Storm Lake authorities were called when employees of a convenience store found a man passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle on Wednesday morning. The Storm Lake Police Department responded to Murphy Oil at approximately 7:35 a.m., and upon arrival, made contact with 22-year-old Corey Jackson of Storm Lake. Officers allege Jackson was intoxicated and secured security video as evidence that Jackson was driving the vehicle. While taking him into custody, a small amount of a white crystal substance was found, and it tested positive as methamphetamine. His license to drive in the state of Iowa had also been revoked. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, driving while revoked and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, all serious misdemeanors. His vehicle was impounded and searched later in the day and a tablet believed to be a controlled substance was found and sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory for testing.
