A Carroll business has created a royal ride, one that has already received national recognition and is in the race to be crowned King. Harley-Davidson of Carroll owner, Terry Ruchti and General Manager, Wade Adams, registered a team of four dealership employees to customize a Harley-Davidson motorcycle for entry in the national Battle of the Kings contest. From December of 2018 to May of this year, Service Manager, Eric Osantowski, Parts Manager, Tim Skaren and Service Technicians, Brock Nelson and Tony Wernimont, worked to customize a 2018 Softail Breakout in the Race category of the competition. In their spare time, the group, supervised by Ruchti and Adams, created the X-Glide 1354 and submitted pictures and videos for May judging. The bike was crowned People’s Choice after the initial voting round and then went before a panel of judges and was selected as one of the six top bikes in the Race category. The X-Glide 1354 has made it into the final two rounds of judging, which will determine the National Battle of the Kings champion. That winning bike then travels to the 2019 Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy for a chance at the global title.
