An Audubon Man Accused Of Stealing More Than $500 In Products From Carroll Walmart Makes Initial Appearance In Court

An Audubon man accused of stealing more than $500-worth of products from a Carroll retailer made his initial appearance in court on Wednesday. According to Carroll County District Court records, 29-year-old Levi Alroy Kluver is charged with third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on May 23 at the Carroll Walmart. At approximately 4 a.m., Kluver allegedly selected multiple items, including drills, speakers and a shopping basket and proceeded through the self-checkout, paying for only a few of the products. The Carroll Police Department says in a criminal complaint that the stolen items are valued at $506. Kluver was released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, July 18 at the Carroll County Courthouse. He faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison and $6,250 in fines if found guilty of the charge.
