Carroll Mayor Suggests All Residents Should Review 2019 Water Quality Report

Carroll Mayor, Dr. Eric Jensen, urges all residents to take the time to review the recently released Consumer Confidence Report on Drinking Water Quality for the city. “We believe that the best way to assure you that your drinking water is safe and dependable is to provide you with the accurate information,” he says. “This Consumer Confidence Report provides information about water quality and the water system. It also illustrates the extent of the testing performed on the water to assure that it is safe when it reaches your tap.” The report shows copper contaminants ranged from a low of .0709 to 1.06 in 2017 with an action level at 1.3 that will trigger treatment or other requirements. The source of the copper and of a value of five within a maximum contaminant level of 15 for lead have likely reported sources of household plumbing, corrosion of natural deposits and leaching. All levels of arsenic, fluoride and sodium were found to be well within allowable levels. A copy of the report can be accessed through the link below. Copies are also posted at City Hall, 510 N. Carroll Street, Suite 2, and can be viewed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
