Western Iowa Networks To Acquire Arcadia Telephone Cooperative And Monarc Technologies

It is projected that by the end of the fourth quarter of the year, Breda Telephone Corporation, who operates under the name Western Iowa Networks (WIN), will have completed the acquisition of the Arcadia Telephone Cooperative. WIN announced Tuesday that an agreement has been reached to acquire “substantially all the operating assets” of the cooperative and its wholly owned subsidiary, Monarc Technologies, LLC. The all-cash transaction is pending regulatory and lender approvals. Following the closing, WIN is expected to construct fiber-to-the-home facilities in the Arcadia local exchange area, with a target for completing construction over the next three years. “Western Iowa Networks is a local company with a proven track record of providing exceptional service to customers in the rural service areas like Arcadia and in competitive markets like Denison,” says President of Arcadia Telephone Cooperative, Tony Vonnahme. He adds they believe the transaction will benefit members and customers alike. CEO of Breda Telephone Corporation, Jeff Roiland, says they are excited to be servicing the Arcadia and Denison areas. “We look forward to investing in and partnering with these communities while providing the customers with top quality service for many years to come,” he says. “The folks in these communities will soon be able to enjoy the whole suite of services we offer, from high-speed broadband, digital TV and voice along with complementary services like managed Wi-Fi, managed IT and numerous business communication services.”
