The Jefferson Police and Fire Departments, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Emergency Medical Services assisted the Iowa State Patrol in a fatal accident Saturday evening west of Jefferson. The report came in at about 11:57 p.m. regarding the accident at 237th Street and Kirkwood Avenue, at the Raccoon River Bridge. One male was involved and initial reports say he died from injuries sustained in the incident. The Iowa State Patrol will be releasing more details as the investigation is concluded and official reports are completed.
