The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to two vehicle incidents over the past weekend, both accidents but one involving a stolen vehicle. The first call came in at approximately 4:41 p.m. on Friday afternoon about a car and tractor collision on 170th Street near S Avenue, west of Dana. Fifty-seven-year-old Michael Anderson of Eagle Grove was westbound on 170th Street in a 2014 Ford Focus when he attempted to pass a tractor. The tractor, driven by 69-year-old Charles Gunn of Jefferson, started to negotiate a turn at that time and the Focus hit the tractor’s bucket. There were only minor injuries reported and neither driver was transported for treatment. There was an estimated $7,000 in damage to the tractor and the Focus was totaled. Anderson was cited for passing at an intersection. The second call deputies responded to came in at about 10:24 a.m. on Sunday, June 2. A car was found in the ditch at 110th Street and T Avenue, north of Paton. There was no driver located in the area and the vehicle was found to have been stolen out of Webster County.
