Three local businesses have joined forces to bring the first ever 5K Block Party to Carroll on June 15. Anytime Fitness, Kerp’s Tavern and Carroll Brewing Company are hosting the event that boasts something for everyone. Kimberly Preston with Anytime Fitness says registration is now open for the toddler through seniors run/walk portion of the day that gets underway at 11 a.m.
Then at noon, food and beverages and entertainment can be found on 5th Street between the brewery and Kerp’s.
The group has actually secured two bands, Salty Views will start playing at 3 p.m. and local band, Wild Ambition at 6 p.m., both are sponsored by Carroll Glass and Carroll Dental Associates. This is not just a day of fun, it is a fundraiser for the Carroll County Relay for Life. Preston says this is a very important aspect of the party for her.
Early registration for the 5K run/walk is $25 per person and will increase to $30 on June 15. Children five and under can participate at no charge. Registration the day of the event will begin at 10 a.m. on 5th Street. Even if you are unable to participate in the run/walk, you can still attend the block party, all it takes to get in is a free-will donation, with all proceeds going back to the Relay for Life.
